We don't believe in having huge pages of legal gobbledegook to tell you things that should be plain and straightforward, so our Privacy Policy can be summed up in just a few simple statements - no catches and no hidden clauses.
Privacy is the watchword.
All of the information you give us, through registering a user account or by
making use of any of the site functions, stays within Retrocade. It does not
leave our servers for any reason except where we are legally obliged to
release such data to the relevant authorities, for example as part of a
criminal investigation.
We hate spam just as much as you do.
Retrocade will never use your email address to send you spam email. All of the
notifications that our site offers (for example to tell you about replies to
your forum posts or to alert you to messages from the site administrators) can
be disabled. Beyond the email we send to confirm new user accounts, you need
never hear from us again if you don't want to.
Private messages stay private.
Forum moderators do not have the power to view any of your private messages
sent or received through the Retrocade forum. By nature of their job, the site
administrators do have access to your private message data,
but they do not use this access for any reason except for
investigation of illegal activity.
To clarify further, "access" to your messages is not the same thing as "visible in plain sight": Retrocade administrators do not see your messages during their day to day work and will always respect your privacy.
No security is perfect, so use common sense.
While all of the Retrocade staff will do everything in their power to protect
and keep your data safe from prying hands, you should use common sense - as
with any other internet site - and avoid posting sensitive information like
credit card numbers, PIN numbers or passwords to any part of Retrocade.
